The country's biodiversity is considered one of the richest and most diverse, while also being one of the least explored and documented in the southern region of the continent. It equally faces massive challenges related to the exploitation and proper management of natural resources. Vol. 3 No. 1 (2022), dedicated to the theme 'Ecosystems of Southern Angola: Biodiversity, Inventory, Socio-Ecological Dynamics, and Conservation Strategies,' constitutes a special issue of great scientific relevance. This edition stands out not only for the importance of the environmental theme addressed, but also because most of the articles result from master's dissertations in Ecology from the Higher Institute of Education Sciences of Huíla, thus reflecting the strong contribution and commitment of this academy toward research in the local context.
