Declaration of Ethical Conduct
REVISTA REALIDADE SOCIAL is a biannual publication of the Faculty of Social Service of the University of Angola, which publishes original scientific articles that reflect on social issues.
The journal's editorial policy adopts the following ethical principles, which must be observed by all those involved with the journal (editors, authors, editorial board members and readers).
Management of the journal/Editorial team
The Journal social reality:
Declares that it does not charge submission and publication fees to authors;
It positions itself and orientates the authors about original and unpublished publication;
Advises on responsibility for the content, including the list of references;
Provides guidance and publishes retraction and/or correction in cases of errors;
Ensures peer review for all published content;
Describes the phases of manuscript review on the site in guidelines to authors;
Maintains confidentiality about the processing, content of submitted manuscripts and respective reviews;
Provides guidance on the neutrality of the reviewers and respect for confidentiality.
Requests evaluators to declare conflicts of interest, if any;
Rejects plagiarism, recognizing it as a harmful conduct to research, which includes appropriation of other people's ideas, redundant publication, falsification of data, undue attribution of authorship.
It provides guidance and encourages authors, editors, reviewers and technical staff to flag any suspected misconduct;
Editor-in-chief and associate editors[1]
Provide instructions to authors regarding manuscript preparation and submission.
Objectively state the journal's policy on authorship criteria.
Treat all authors with equality, courtesy, objectivity, honesty and transparency.
Establish and define policies regarding conflicts of interest for all those involved in the publication process, including editors, production teams (e.g. editorial and commercial departments), authors and referees.
Protect the confidentiality of each author's work.
Establish a system for quick and effective evaluation.
Make editorial decisions with reasonable speed and communicate them clearly and constructively.
Be alert to the possibility of editors and/or referees delaying a manuscript for suspicious reasons.
Establish clear rules regarding acceptable practices for sharing experimental materials and information, particularly those needed to repeat research, before and after publication.
Establish a procedure for reconsideration of editorial decisions;
Describe, implement, and regularly review policies for dealing with ethical issues and allegations or findings of misconduct by authors and anyone else involved in the review process
Inform authors that the submission will be evaluated according to the journal's standard procedures or describe the decision-making process if it diverges from such procedures
Communicate objectively the editorial policies and standards followed by the journal;
Accompany the whole process of evaluation and revision of the manuscripts and provide plagiarism check;
Keep confidentiality about the content and opinions.
To evaluate in a neutral and impartial way the scientific merit of the contents;
Declare conflict of interests, at the beginning of the process or at any time;
Consolidate opinions;
Investigate suspicions of scientific misconduct;
Observe the different sides of the same issue, i.e. giving the authors involved the opportunity to respond;
In the case of manuscripts in progress, if misconduct is confirmed they will be rejected. In the case of manuscripts already published, a retraction letter will be published and the article will be removed from the air.
Authors
Read and understand the editorial policy of the Angolan University Extension Journal before submitting your manuscript;
Declare the originality and unpublished nature of the publication;
Declare the authorship of the submitted article;
Submit your manuscript after a careful and responsible review;
Accompany the processing of the submitted article on the journal platform.
Attend the recommendations made to the submitted manuscripts;
Take full responsibility for the content of the article, including the references cited;
Identify and acknowledge financial support, when applicable;
Make written retraction in case of error by the authors, or need for correction;
Accept to be summoned to provide information in case of suspected misconduct;
Right of reply preserved based on the principle that in any cases of suspected unethical conduct or conflicts, the different sides of the same issue should be observed.
Obligation to write letter of retraction, in the face of confirmed suspicions of misconduct;
Obtain a response on a submitted manuscript;
Right to an objective opinion about your manuscript;
Technical reviewers
Maintain confidentiality about the content reviewed.
Declare conflict of interest, at the beginning of the process or at any time;
Declare unavailability if requested by the editor to review a manuscript;
Make their evaluations with impartiality and considering only the technical and scientific merit of the manuscripts;
Commit to collaborate for the qualification of the manuscripts submitted for review;
Receive orientations from the editor-in-chief about the evaluation procedures in case of doubt;
Receive guidance from the editor-in-chief on suspected misconduct.
