Continuous training of teachers and quality of the teaching-learning process
Abstract
The article discusses the importance of continuing teacher training as an essential factor in improving teaching quality and student performance. Continuing education is seen as an indispensable process for the proper performance of teachers‘ duties and for guaranteeing students’ success at school. It also addresses the need for more effective continuing education policies that are aligned with changes in the context of organisation, management and power relations between teachers and students. In addition, the text highlights the importance of overcoming traditional teaching, which is teacher-centred and passive, and promoting more active and contextualised teaching. In this sense, continuing education should be seen as a continuous process of professional development that allows teachers to update and improve their competences, as well as exchange experiences with their colleagues. For continuing training to be effective, it is essential that it is aligned with the needs of the teachers and the school, and that it is offered systematically and regularly. In short, continuing teacher training is the key to improving the quality of teaching and students' success at school. For in-service training to be effective, it is essential that it is aligned with the needs of the teachers and the school, and that it is offered systematically and regularly.
