Abstract

This article aims to analyse the reforms introduced into the Angolan education system over the last few years and how they have contributed to the evolution of the country's education sector and its relationship with the European and international education system. Consequently, an analysis is made of the professionalisation of teaching and the restructuring that has taken place over the last few years, as well as their impact in the classroom and on the progress of education in Angola. Following this analysis, the effectiveness of the teaching methodologies applied in the training of teachers in a practical context will be assessed, as well as their effectiveness in responding to the needs of the population. It was concluded that it is necessary to reflect on teaching and learning in Angola, in order to increase the indicators of school completion at the different levels and increase the level of qualification of teachers, in order to (1) increase the number of students enrolled per school year, (2) increase the literacy rate, and (3) reduce the dropout rate.
