This article aims to analyze the impact of laboratory classes on the teaching and learning process of the Electrical Engineering subject, taught in the 4th year of the Industrial Organization and Maintenance Engineering course at the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Soyo. The research starts from the recognition that, in technical fields, when teaching is exclusively theoretical, it limits the practical understanding of the content and compromises the comprehensive training of future engineers. Using a mixed approach and applying questionnaires to 17 students, teachers identified weaknesses in the connection between theory and practice, as well as infrastructural limitations. The results show that implementing laboratory classes significantly improves learning, strengthens technical skills, and increases student motivation. The study suggests investing in ongoing teacher training, improving the management of available physical resources, and fostering an institutional culture oriented towards active pedagogy and the full use of laboratories as experiential learning spaces.
