About the Journal

EMERGENCE

The journal Olhar Científico is the result of the careful work of the institution's collective teaching staff.

 The Journal Olhar Científico is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish, unpublished or translated originals, reviews, interviews with historians and critical editions of documentary sources, in the areas of Social Sciences (Psychology, Pedagogy, Law and International Relations), Management (Human Resource Management, Business Management, Accounting and Economics) and Health (Clinical Analysis, Nursing and Pharmacy).

The Journal Olhar Científico arises from the initiative of the governing body of the Instituto Superior Politécnico Atlântida, in what is its mission as an institution of higher education to contribute to the development of scientific research, aimed at a wider public, as well as serving as a means of disseminating the Angolan university production.

To promote the dissemination of science in order to contribute to the development of Angola, through publications and national and international partnerships.

To be a reference in the promotion of science on a national and international level, focusing on excellence in scientific and interdisciplinary production and promoting accessible information to a wide range of audiences.

FOCUS AND SCOPE

Our interest is to promote the dissemination of national and international scientific research on education. We give priority to unpublished studies, which help to deepen our understanding of Education in Angola and in the world.

 The Journal does not accept manuscripts already published or under evaluation in other scientific journals; published in full or in part on the internet.

 The journal Olhar Científico is a multidisciplinary journal that works in the following areas

Social Sciences: Pedagogy, Psychology, International Relations and Law.

 Economic Sciences and Management: Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Human Resources Management and Marketing.

 Health: Nursing and Clinical Analyses, Pharmacy.

Engineering: Computer Science

 PERIODICITY

The Journal Olhar Científico is a biannual publication of the Instituto Superior Politécnico Atlântida. The Journal publishes academic articles resulting from original theoretical research and is multidisciplinary.

 PEER REVIEW

The journal Olhar Científico is open to contributions in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Submitted manuscripts are evaluated for originality, importance of the topic, and the quality of the scientific methodology used. The editorial standards adopted by the journal are also taken into account. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are evaluated by one or more referees specialized in the subject of the submitted article. The evaluation is done anonymously, by double blind review, ensuring confidentiality throughout the review process.

Once the evaluation is finished, the accepted manuscripts are forwarded to the authors for corrections (if applicable) and/or for them to become aware of the suggested changes.

At the end of the process, the decision is communicated by the Editor-in-Chief, who is the only one besides the Director who has direct contact with the authors.

Texts with confirmation of plagiarism will be immediately rejected. The Journal adopts systems to identify plagiarism in the texts it receives.

 OPEN ACCESS POLICY

The Olhar Científico Journal offers free access to its contents, following the principle of democratization of scientific knowledge.

 ETHICS AND RESEARCH

The Journal Olhar Científico adopts the principles contained in the Codes of Ethics of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

 SENDING OF MANUSCRIPTS

We receive articles on a continuous flow, that is, manuscripts can be submitted at any time of the year. We do not publish two or more articles from the same author(s) in a single issue. Authors must wait for an interstice of at least 6 months before new articles can be published in the journal.

 Observations:

The journal is not responsible for the bibliographical references provided by the authors;

Papers, even if not accepted for publication, will not be returned;

The original articles sent must be definitely revised and adequate to the norms of the Portuguese language in force in Angola. Texts written according to the new orthographic agreement may be accepted;

The concepts and statements contained in the papers are the sole responsibility of the authors;

Papers reflect the opinions of their authors and not necessarily those of the Scientific and Editorial Committee of the journal.
