Abstract

In an increasingly dynamic and globalised society, in the linguistic field, it is imperative to understand how important languages and cultures are in the relationship between human beings and the natural environment and social contexts. Language and culture establish a relationship of complementarity that is very visible in the actions that human beings project towards others. In fact, they allow man to interact with his fellow man and, by extension, with the environment in which he lives and on which he transforms his experience. This article seeks to understand the importance of a more multilingual/plurilingual/intercultural education for promoting Environmental Education (Andrade, 2023). For this reason, a reflective analysis is carried out that seeks to explain the relationship between language, culture and the environment and the possible consequences arising from this relationship. Thematically, our approach falls within the scope of promoting enlightened citizenship through Environmental Education in the various teaching contexts of Angolan schools. Promoting a harmonious relationship between languages and cultures implies the active participation of schools in education for sustainability.
