Abstract

This study presents the results of the research entitled “Use of GeoGebra software for teaching trigonometric functions: a pedagogical strategy to promote meaningful learning in the 10th grade in Polytechnic Secondary Education at Kitona/Soyo.” The study aims to reduce the difficulties students face in learning trigonometric functions. The general objective is to develop a pedagogical strategy based on the CEPSol approach in order to improve the teaching and learning process of trigonometric functions in the second cycle of secondary education. The research was conducted at the Kitona/Soyo Polytechnic Institute (IPK) with the participation of seven mathematics teachers and 132 tenth-grade students from the seven technical programs offered by the institution. The study adopts a quantitative approach supported by theoretical and empirical methods. The theoretical methods include the historical-logical method and analysis-synthesis, while the empirical methods include a questionnaire survey and a pedagogical test. A bibliographic review was also carried out to deepen the didactic and methodological foundations of teaching trigonometric functions.Data processing was performed using statistical procedures, including frequency distribution tables, graphs, and hypothesis testing, with the support of SPSS software. The results show that students obtained an average evaluation score above 7.5 (on a scale from 1 to 10), indicating a high level of satisfaction and demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed strategy in improving learning.
