About the Journal

The Kilamba Scientific Journal (RCK), under the motto Scientia Liberat, was established within the scope of the Centre for Studies, Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies of the Kilamba Private Polytechnic Institute, with the aim of promoting a deeper and more specialised understanding of the scientific ecosystem, based on the maxim of thinking globally and acting locally.

As a multidisciplinary vehicle, RCK's mission is to conceive, produce and disseminate relevant scientific knowledge, with a focus on national and international research, through annual publications.

The journal favours the submission of unpublished articles in the fields of social sciences and humanities, education, health and engineering, with a special focus on historically neglected or silenced knowledge that has a significant impact on social dynamics and human development.

FOCUS AND SCOPE

The Kilamba Scientific Journal (RCK) is an annual publication that publishes original scientific articles in multidisciplinary fields. The journal aims to promote the production and dissemination of knowledge with the highest level of excellence and thus contribute to the diversification of scientific sources of knowledge, resulting from research on multidisciplinary content from Angola and around the world, following the best ethical and methodological criteria for scientific publication.

PEER REVIEW

Articles submitted to RCK undergo rigorous peer review. The journal accepts contributions from national and international authors in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Manuscripts are evaluated for originality, relevance of the topic and quality of the scientific methodology used, in accordance with the editorial standards adopted. Each manuscript is reviewed by three reviewers specialised in the topic addressed. It is an anonymous review process (double-blind review), ensuring confidentiality throughout the evaluation.

After evaluation, if necessary, accepted manuscripts are sent to the authors so that they can make the necessary changes, and they are required to justify, in a cover letter, any reasons for not following the reviewers' suggestions. At the end of the process, the editorial board decides whether or not to approve the manuscript for publication. It is important to note that texts identified as plagiarism will be immediately rejected, as the journal uses plagiarism detection systems.

PRESENTATION OF RCK

The RCK journal publishes national and international contributions (in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, and French) with the aim of offering broad interdisciplinary studies and in-depth analyses on multidisciplinarity and is open to national and international contributions.

It includes academic and unpublished articles resulting from original theoretical or field research, research reports, interviews, book reviews, and abstracts of multidisciplinary dissertations and theses.

The article must have a maximum of five authors, and the first author must have at least a master's degree. Texts from master's students (master's candidates) may be accepted, provided they have been co-authored with PhDs.

RCK does not accept manuscripts that have already been published or submitted to another journal; that have already been published in full or in part on the internet; parts of theses and dissertations; or texts published in the proceedings of scientific events.

The journal's target audience is the national and international academic community, as well as thinkers and articulators of multidisciplinarity.

Articles accepted for publication automatically become the property of the journal and may only be republished with the journal's written authorisation.

Texts may be published in up to five languages: Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, English, and French.

The abbreviated title of the journal is RCK, which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references, and bibliographic captions.

Remarks:

The journal is not responsible for the bibliographical references provided by the authors.

Original articles submitted must be definitively revised and comply with the Portuguese language standards in force in Angola. Texts written according to the new spelling agreement may be accepted.

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS

We receive articles on a rolling basis, meaning that manuscripts can be submitted at any time of the year. We do not publish two or more articles by the same author(s) in a single issue. Authors must wait for a minimum interval of one issue, i.e. one year, before new articles can be published in the journal.

Articles should be submitted to the journal via the electronic manuscript submission website:
